FAQ
Will these boots protect my dog's paws from heat?
The boots are made from neoprene which is ideal for heat resistance. Neoprene's burn point is around 260°C (500°F). Additionally, the sole is re-enforced to ensure that your dog’s paws are fully protected. Some boots have rigid, hard rubber soles, which make the dog’s paw into more of an equine hoof, inflexible and unnatural. These have a heavy duty, yet flexible, rubber sole which offers protection from heat, cold, and uncomfortable terrain, while affording the dog the ability to move their foot naturally.
TRIM YOUR DOG'S NAILS
Make sure that your dog's nails are trimmed so that the boot does not drag and the boot is secured onto the paw. This will prevent any damage to the sole of the boot.
Are these boots fleece lined or insulated for winter wear?
Our boots are lined with a thin layer of fleece, and constructed from a neoprene material, like that of a wetsuit. Neoprene provides excellent insulation against cold, but offers flexibility over a wide temperature range so it is protective in cold temperatures as well as hot. This material allows the shoes to be lightweight and provides more movement and flexibility in the paws when walking.
LABEL EACH BOOT
Designate a boot for each paw and label it for reference. Most dog's paws are different sizes in the front compared to the back. The neoprene material will stretch on bigger paws and conform to the paw over time so it may not fit on a smaller paw correctly.
How would you clean these boots? Are they hand-wash only? Washer safe?
The boots can be hand-washed or machine-washed. If using a washing machine, we recommend washing the boots alone, in cold water, on the gentle cycle.
